Best tactic I know for breaking “the block” - not always writers, sometimes just getting started or completing projects - is to interview yourself. For fiction and screenplays and such, use a david letterman kind of figure: “Well what I was really trying to say in this story, Dave…” But it also works for other projects: “There’s a funny story about how I reached the Q3 targets…” Only requirement: got to get it out of your inner dialogue and on paper. (And posting it here is a great reminder to myself to do it more often.)
