Not sure if the resolution...

Not sure if the resolution would be good enough on a phone, but when I’ve been on holiday, I’ve used my digital camera to take photos of those big maps that are sometimes displayed on notice boards of the surrounding area. You often get them in places like large parks.

Then if you want a map at some point later, you can just look at it on your camera, zooming in as necessary to see the detail.
