My advice is toss the wallet, but keep the ID holder!
I use the leather ID holder that came with my husband’s last wallet. It has a clear pocket for the ID, where I keep my drivers license. The other pocket holds two credit cards (used to be just one, I need to clean it out!). I keep cash outside of the pockets, just folded in the center. I also keep a spare bill (when I have one) folded up between the credit cards.
That’s it!
