Wow, lots of really good...

Wow, lots of really good info in this comments section!

I still have yet to really get the GTD workflow down to the point I’m happy with it, but I recently introduced MyLifeOrganized and make some context changes at the same time. I’m only a couple of days in, but I think it’s working much better to have consolidated a lot of my contexts into a smaller number of larger contexts.

For instance before I had something like: @computerblog @computeremail @computerprint @computerweb @computerexternalHardDrive @desktopPIM @desktopdownload @desktopphysical @home

I actually combined all of the computer contexts into @computer, Internet and external hard-drive are a given 95% of the time so it didn’t make sense to have all of them. print jobs could get lumped into @home or @school, as I don’t have a good printer at work or in some of the labs at school. The biggest surprise was putting everything I do at home into @home, including all my desktop specific activities. I don’t do all that many chores, paperwork or physical tasks that really deserved to be separated from my desktop context. This way I also see what I need to do around the house because my computer context is so much more interesting and I can procrastinate the other stuff, right? Now I see them.

So here’s my current contexts:

@agenda (broken down further in ListPro on my Desktop and PDA) @anywhere (Just bought a ‘murse,’ ‘man bag’ or whatever the heck you want to call it so I no longer have an excuse not to have a book or to-read article(s), a note book and my PDA with me) @car ( Wallmart, Office, Library, etc. Further broken down into a groceries list in ListPro) @computer @home @ @maybe (needs rethought and reimplemented) @phone @school @waiting
