Hi Merlin- I was at the...

Hi Merlin-

I was at the RoadMap siminar in Chicago today and one of the question that kept being asked to The David was “but how do I prioritize what to do?”. The question was asked at least 4 times so I’m not sure people were listening closely enough. Looking back through the notes I took I noted this question and gave my own answer which sounded very close to the 4 factors of how a decision is reached. I’m a total GTD newbie (have read the book and this site but haven’t actually tried to apply anything yet) but this made total sense to me. It really takes the pressure off the whole “fake” priority thing when there are other things to consider like how much time you have to actually accomplish tasks.

One of the things David noted was that in the case where you’re feeling totally drained at the end of the day probably isn’t the best time to talk to an important client ;) That’s the time you do stuff like watering the plants.

Great seminar. I highly recommend it to anyone. 8 hours long and the first seminar I’ve been in where my attention has been kept the full time. Just a great job by David Co.

Jason
