EV-DO
I hate the IT department…
Get a laptop with an EV-DO card and use the cell network for wireless broadband. You don’t need the IT department anymore or their network anymore, and if you do need it, maybe you can VPN in.
Maybe this approach is incompatible with a teacher’s budget?
