”What’s 43 Folders?”
43Folders.com is Merlin Mann’s website about finding the time and attention to do your best creative work.

Hello from Baltimore

Hi all,

I am a relatively new GTD convert. I started it back in December of '05 and only recently I have I been able to get into to a somewhat "steady-state" flow. For me, starting the GTD thing was somewhat traumatic. I experienced exactly what D.Allen said about people who start this system getting a flood of mixed emotions.

The thing that keeps me going with GTD is that it has taken away that feeling of always having a weight over my head. This is corny but, now, I like to visualize that the weight over my head is not an amorphous fog of nagging obligations but instead it is a flimsy over-filled pinata ready to be wacked with a stick.

My specs:
* software developer
* extremely limited time (yeah, I know I should not be on a board)
* GTD styling: hipster PDA, physical inboxes, physical file cabinets
* GTD want-to-do: electronic filing, electronic tickler system
* Hobbies: running, cycling.

Why I am here? I liked 43folders hacks/advice: especially the hipster pda and zero-inbox for email.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
