Moleskine Pen Tether

I came up with this super simple way of tethering any pen to your Moleskine. Hope you find it useful:

how do you choose tags?

hey guys

I would like to know what your habits are in tagging files.

I found this very cool app, Punakea. It’s a tagging software, basically similar to Yojimbo, Journaler,…and I’m thinking of tagging all my documents and files and have them organized by Punakea (instead of sorting them manually into folders)

So do you have a certain system or what is your thinking process when you tag the files.

thanks for any suggestions

Seeking info re Miquelrius hack

I have a small Miquelrius notebook, 200 leaves, approximately 4”x6”. I intend to use it and two similar-sized Moleskine Cahiers as my go-everywhere notetaking system. What I am looking for is a cover for the Miquelrius that I can put the back cover into and then use the front flap to secure the two Cahiers. (Think one of those covers that people like At A Glance sell for their products, only a different size.) Oh, and something that doesn’t cost $70-plus, like all of the Levenger products.

Has anyone had this problem, and come up with a solution?  read more »

Hack a Beautiful Resume

Before someone tells me that Colin Nederkoorn is a Mac/Apple thing, I already know :)

36 Beautiful Resume Ideas That Work

You don’t need to be a resume designer to have a designer resume, but you do need to be able to recognize one.

And some of them even look like they were made on Macs.

Thoughts?

When they won't ship to a PO Box...

Quick tip for those wanting to use a PO Box for buying things online… I’ve been doing this for a couple of years now with no problems.

Every so often I run into some place that won’t accept a PO Box, but I never give out my home address online. With all the mapping apps out there it makes me nervous to think that anyone in the world could get an aerial view of my home in an instant.  read more »

Effective Standing Orders

I thought 43f readers might enjoy this. Diana Hsieh on making it hard to ignore your orders to yourself. Good point about not needing a reminder when there’s already a natural prompt to think about the thing in question.

Tabula Rasa or What would you do if you were starting over in a brand new environment?

Most people are rarely lucky enough to have the chance to ask for help like I am. I think our resident alliterative basket case would call this a first world problem.

I just started a new job (an IT internship for a large corporation), and my cube is bare. I fetched a few supplies for the desk, but before I go further getting myself situated, I wanted to ping you guys. What would you do if you had essentially no constraints on a new setup?  read more »
