Mac Mail.app: keyboard "move" folder select?

Hello. On PINE (my old mail program) I could file mail quickly; “s foldername” would file the current message into foldername. (I could even tab-complete!) I would LOVE to be able to do that on Mail.app: a keyboard-only way to file messages. Does anyone know of any way to do that?

(Looked on Versiontracker, googled it; I found nothin’.)

Best Clip Utilities

i have been a loyal copypaste user for years, but it’s incompatible with more and more apps (like textexpander and typeit4me), and I haven’t heard anything about it being compatible with 10.5.

i liked copypaste best when it was pre-YType, so i am looking for a replacement that is similar and easy to use. i know quicksilver has a clipboard, but i’d like something with easy to use hot keys as there is in copypaste.

TIA!

Ical Task Problems

I have been having a problem with ical that I can’t find any resolution to nor find anyone else who has this problem. I currently use OmniFocus to manage my “big picture” and sync that with iCal for checking off my tasks and for aligning due dates of my todos with my available calendar schedule.  read more »

math homework handwritten solutions with Wacom Tablet?

Hello all.

I teach math and write out solutions to homeworks by hand. (It would take forever to typeset them, and I like to show the students that it really is possible to write out all the solutions by hand. If I can do it, they can do it.)

For now I’m scanning them and posting pdf files on Blackboard (a web thingy for education… students can access the files there).

When I make a mistake or want to revise the homework assignment for the next semester, I would like to be able to edit a file on my MacBook instead of cutting and pasting (literally) and rescanning.  read more »

Duplicate Files and folder merging

I’ve searched a bit around this forum and others, and not found particularly useful information on merging and otherwise distilling duplicate files in Leopard and possibly Windows. In particular I have nested folders on two macs and a win xp machine that I would like to merge and synchronize. Currently I’m syncing the macs with Chronosync, but I’d like to merge the data from the windows machine and sync all three ideally. I could conceivably de-nest everything using some scripting to handle obvious duplicates, and then give everything a new hierarchy once cleaned up.  read more »

Applescript: using Quicksilver to append to OmniOutliner documents

I'm hoping that someone can help me. I've done some searching today for this and was surprised not to find very much information about what I'm looking for.

We all know that you can use Quicksilver to append to an existing text file (with the .txt suffix). However, I keep a set of lists—my non-systematic ‘stuff’—in a set of OmniOutliner documents. These documents are all stored in one folder. There seems to be no way to use Quicksilver to append a line to an arbitrary OmniOutliner document, as far as I can tell.

I've found this page which gives a script to use as a Quicksilver action. That script will append to a .oo3 document whose filename is hard-coded into the script. I would like to be able to define which document to append to from within the Quicksilver interface, in the third argument.  read more »
