Clearing unread post notification

Just wondering if there's any way to change the fact that in order for a forum to reflect that there are no unread posts, I actually have to click into that forum directly.

Not a huge problem, but I know it is a minor annoyance when even when I've read the final unread post in a forum, I have to take the extra step to click back into the host forum before moving to an upper level to see what else might be new.
