”What’s 43 Folders?”
43Folders.com is Merlin Mann’s website about finding the time and attention to do your best creative work.

Say hi to MoleskineUS

Short version

I’m pleased to announce that MoleskineUS is our new partner for Moleskine notebooks.

Long version

A better experience for you

img of a case of MoleskinesIt’s no secret (I hope) that, like a lot of site owners, I use Amazon Associates links to relevant products as a way to defray the costs of operating and maintaining 43 Folders. In general I’ve been extremely satisfied with Amazon’s service, selection, and prices. I mean, you know: they’re Amazon.

Unfortunately, I’ve never been enthused with the third-party Amazon vendor to whom I’ve linked in the past to get credit for Moleskine purchases. Some of you, it should be noted, have been understandably vocal in sharing this lack of enthusiasm via comments and emails. Frankly it’s been a bit embarrassing that the vendor’s presentation is so lame and that their delivery window can be as long as two weeks. Yuck. So, sorry ‘bout that.

The good news is that I’ve been talking to the very swell folks at MoleskineUS about working together, and it’s looking like it will work out swimmingly. Friday began a 30-day trial period at the end of which we can both decide if we like the performance, terms, etc. So, there you go.

Extra content and news

In addition to providing a much better selection and improved service, the MoleskineUS site has a bunch of cool sections that might appeal to you nerds.

  1. History of the Moleskine
  2. Stories from users (I especially like Leslie Whalley’s artsy use of the book)
  3. Overview of the Moleskine’s design and the different models that are available

Additionally, I’m assured that there will be some top secret inside dope and news about Moleskines coming our way from time to time from the MoleskineUS folks.

Supporting 43 Folders

I suppose I’m mentioning all this, in part, for my own selfish reasons; it never hurts to remind folks that they can help support the site’s development by purchasing items from our partner and affiliate links. (I try to only link to stuff in ways that are both useful and unobtrusive, but, yeah, it actually does help a lot when you choose to purchase stuff you need anyhow via our links.)

People do frequently ask how they can contribute or donate to the site, and while I’m reluctant to always point them at PayPal, I do feel comfortable saying: if there’s stuff you’d pick up anyhow at Amazon or MoleskineUS, it’s nice when you can do it through us. For what it's worth.

Done dunning. If you have question or concerns, you can leave comments here or email me any time. So, thanks, and I hope this change is a happy one for you guys, too.

Darn. I bought my first Moleskine...

Darn.

I bought my first Moleskine last week directly from MoleskineUS. I'll make sure my future purchases are through 43folders. :)

I have to say that, I too was really impressed by MoleskineUS. My book got here so fast, you'd have thought the place was just down the street. Their site is wonderful, too. Great presentation, and excellent information. I really think it helped me in my decision. Their prices seem to be the best, too, at about $1.00 less than most other online stores I've seen.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
