NPR : The Mystery of ‘Sweet Caroline’ and the Red Sox

How did people start singing “Sweet Caroline” at Red Sox games? Morning Edition puts Susan Orlean on the case:

Commentator Susan Orlean takes on a great mystery of baseball and a stadium anthem. She visits Boston’s Fenway Park to unlock the secret connection between the Red Sox, singer Neil Diamond, and loyal fans.

I won’t spoil the ending for you—it’s a very enjoyable little journey Orlean takes—but I like what it says about the simple roots of a popular meme.

This blog is becoming more...

This blog is becoming more and more unreadable. - It was once a clean and steady source of good information and comment. It's now a bizarre collection of unrelated articles that do not reflect it's purpose.

'How did people start singing “Sweet Caroline??? at Red Sox games? ' for goodness sakes.

What next, my favorite way of flossing.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.
