We've started a new feature over on MacBreak Weekly that I really hope becomes a regular thing: "_Mac Whines_!" Yeah, sure, I'm an unapologetic Apple fanboy (I, mean duh), but some stuff about my Mac experience makes me crazy. Have you got a beef with your Mac or OS X you want to shout from the shiny counter of the "Genius" Bar? Yeah, me too. I'll open with:

Coming from over 10 years of using Windows almost exclusively, I really can't see the point in why applications don't in fact close down altogether when you click the little 'x' in the upper left corner. Rather, clicking it only seems to hide the interface and leave the program running in the background, hogging memory and so on. Doesn't really make any sense to me. Luckily enough, though, conditioning yourself to press Cmd+Q every time isn't all too difficult. » POSTED IN:
