My wife and I need to file and store the various items that come into our life through our kids that we want to save such as class photos, report cards, drawings, papers, etc. Anyone have a good system for that sort of thing?

I completely hear what you're saying, and clutter simplification is one of my (and our family's) most pressing needs. However, this seems to be about the least harmful kind of "stuff" you could have. You know, by definition, that nothing in the boxes requires action, so it doesn't hold part of your psyche. And it's organized by kid and by year, so nothing is too hard to find. If you have room for the boxes, it sounds like a great idea!

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
