2007 -- Setting goals

So are you the "resolution/goal-setting" type? Do you sit down this time of year and work on a list for the coming one?

How do you work these into your GTD system? When you set a goal: "Finish rough draft of short story by January 20," for example, do you put it on your hard calendar, or just break it down to NAs and move forward?

Year goals are just projects?

I keep my goals as part of my projects list such as "lose 50 pounds" and "write a book". I can keep them broken down into next actions throughout the year without much of a problem. This is my first year on GTD and I plan to have some new year's resolutions but we'll see.

I may suggest that "sit down and make goals with the wife" thing this year as well.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
