Which reader do you like best?

I signed up for bloglines but never remember to check it. I don't know enough about any of them to know how to choose one. Is bloglines as good as any, and I just need to get in the habit of using it?

Well first of all, they're...

Well first of all, they're receptive. They want to make their mobile reader the best in the biz and they're asking me about improvements I'd make, etc. So that's a good sign.

They also just hired a new director to work on mobile bits, so they know full well what the future of syndication is.

I also like that NetNewsWire syncs with it, as do a couple of Windows do-dads that I'll probably never use.

Their web interface is top-notch, and they're working on that some as well here and there.

And it isn't ugly like Bloglines. So that counts when you spend a lot of time in it.

I like how they handle enclosures (podcasts, etc). All in all I just really find it superior to the other offerings out there. Some are more glitzy but NewsGator just feels better than the rest.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
