RSS Readers

Which reader do you like best?

I signed up for bloglines but never remember to check it. I don't know enough about any of them to know how to choose one. Is bloglines as good as any, and I just need to get in the habit of using it?

I have been on the...

I have been on the hunt for a good RSS reader for about the last 6 months and here is what I have found:

1. I like NetNewsWire and bought it. It was the most polished of all the readers that I found. They are active developers who seem to care that their product meets customer expectations.

2. I used to use Bloglines but it was too slow and, as others mentioned, ugly. I did, however, enjoy thier feature list.

3. A great open source option, and also free, is Vienna. It doesn't have as many features as NNW but if you are looking for a good RSS reader which is free and pretty snappy, Vienna is for you.

4. I tried RSSOwl which is a Java based client and thus could work on any platform that uses Java, but its interface was ugly and it was almost the slowest of the bunch.

5. If you are a power reader then the other Java reader, BlogBridge may be for you. It has some of the most powerful features that I have seen in a reader but the interface is different than most other readers.

6. I didn't really care much for endo as its organization didn't match my tastes and it doesn't have nearly as many intuitive features as NNW.

7. Feed is a pretty basic feed reader that doesn't do much other than allow you to read rss feeds. It looks plain and feels plain but it a simple app that does its job.

8. MiNews is a worthy contender but it just didn't do it for me.

Hope this synopsis helps you out.
