Home Page GTD

I've got a lot of different systems, most of which I found via 43folders (Thanks, Merlin!)

After trying a lot of things, I've decided that a home page combining my calendars, reminders and ticklers is what I need. I'm still trying to find a way to bext manage NA, right now I'm trying MLO and I like the app but don't like how it's tied to my home computer - I don't have a personal laptop. I'm looking at gtd-php, but it's a little cumbersome. Also, I haven't found any implementations where I can keep simple lists (groceries, books to read, gift ideas) and actions in the same system.

Meantime, though, I created a personal portal. Included:

calendar (managed by Mozilla Calendar, stored in iCal files on webDav server, displayed through php script ripped and refigured from phpiCalendar)
Reminders (simply a display of "rem -q", with my iCal to rem script already in place)
Ticklers (IMAP emails, managed by thunderbird in tickler system, displayed by perl script http://jalcorn.net/weblog/pages/tickler2.html )
This week (Actually takes the output of "rem -c+" and parses it through a perl script that turns the text output into a table. I know that rem will output html, I'll figure that out later. Probably wasted an hour writing that script *grin* )
A Tao quote (from www.taoteching.org, I use HTML::Parse to grab the actual verse from the web page, after choosing which chapter to do based on the day. That way I have a new verse to conteplate each day).

Next step is to add some RSS feeds for important info to my personal portal.

Comments? Ideas?

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
