Peer-to-Peer compensation in the office

I was chatting with some people today about a program we have at my office that everyone I work with loves.

We are empowered to give on-the-spot awards to our coworkers without management approval for up to USD$50.

I had never encountered this program before, but apparently nobody else has ever heard of it, so I wrote it up on my website for those to share with their HR departments or senior management if they're interested.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
