Anyone doing GTD with GMail?

I'm pretty impressed with how well GMail lends itself to GTD (as outlined in this post), but I'm really wondering how other people get around the problem of portablility.

Do you simply manually sync to an offline source for contexts that should be offline? This seems pretty labor intensive to me, but appears to be the only option when using GMail.

Anyone else have any experiences to share about GTDw/GMail?
