Suggestion for Documentation of Work

Can someone suggest an attractive, stream-lined way to document work? I am writing a manual for my position and the usual outline format is not working for me. It's so boring and difficult to read, I think. Is there anything out there, software, template, anything that could make this look organized, intuitive and concise?
Thanks

A lot of people here use something called markdown (it's even the one good ol' Merlin uses). I've been using one called [url=http://wiki.43folders.com/index.php/Aptconvert">aptconvert, mainly because it can be rendered directly into more formats than markdown, even though I'll probably never use most of them. I would give one of the dozen or so programs a shot and see if they work for you.

Another thing we use here at work is a wiki called PmWiki (the address of their site escapes me at the moment). It allows you to quickly make a page and can have multiple people edit it fairly easily. Not sure if your documentation would benefit from having multiple people or is pretty much just your thing.

If you like markdown, but need more features; Multi-markdown is another alternative.
