I've been closely monitoring all the Mail.app observations here hoping to find a clue on solving my email impasse. Mail 1.3.11, flatly refuses to download the messages from my bursting Gmail inbox where they languish undisturbed. I've meticulously followed the setup information I've learned from sources provided here ? hoping for a harmonious marriage with Mac OS X 10.3.9. Sorry to say these two are still virgins. I have no problem sending email. I have no problem receiving mail at the Gmail web site, I just can't access it with Mail.app.

I've enabled POP in my Gmail Settings, and clicked SAVE which is easy to overlook. I've double-checked my ports (POP 587, SMTP 995), and entered checks at the SSL boxes as needed. I've even deleted the Gmail account and carefully reinstalled it with my password again. Still no dice.

I would be grateful for a solution. I've haunted the Gmail forum, but frankly, I think this site offers more savvy. I'm ready for that honeymoon.
