Rollabind @ Staples/Target?
Momo | Feb 6 2007
I'd need a refill of Rolla rings, and if possible another 2-3 Rollabind 3x5 books (well, it's the covers that I'm after, really). Are these items readily available at Staples/Target? I'm coming to the US soon for a visit and picking them up would obviously be the cheapest option. I ordered from Rollabind about a year ago, it took forever to arrive, shipping cost was bad, but I love the Rollabind system! thanks! 6 Comments

I bought my first rollabind at Target on clearance. I know they sell the paper at Staples. Since I switched to Circa, though, I don't really pay attention since I get my stuff from Levenger. It would be awesome if you were going to a city that has a Levenger store and then you could just forget Rollabind. »

Yeah I have used both Rollabind and Circa. Circa is by far the superior product. It is more expensive. But if you use it as much as most people do, it is well worth it. »

thanks. I'm not going to a city with a Levenger store, alas. Besides, Levenger plus shipping cost to overseas is beyond the meager earnings of an adjunct (even while holding down 3 part-time jobs)... I'm happy with Rollabind for now but would love more of the 3x5 books (or, at least, the covers). Momo »

My Staples still carries the Rollabind notebooks. I don't think they have just the rings or covers available. Could you order them online and have them sent to the address where you will be staying in the US? »

While we're on the topic, how many of you have actually been able to FIND the Rollabind products at Target? They were nowhere to be found in Pearland, TX. »

Well, I never found the Rollabind stuff at Target. I went ahead and ordered the Letter-sized faux leather at Staples (it was the only one in stock). I got it Friday, and so far I have mixed emotions. The book I got from Staples almost looks used. The rings seem to have been cheaply painted, and the silver paint seems to have chipped off of the rings in a few places. The paper is pretty low-quality too, but usable. The only thing I really like is the faux-leather cover. Even though it's 'fake,' it seems to be of decent quality--decent enough to use for quite a while. The system itself seems like a pretty good idea, but I would imagine most people would probably want to spring for the Levenger gear (duh). In my opinion, the Rollabind stuff at Staples is perfect for someone like me who wants to see if they can develop a system around this Rollabind/Levenger idea before dropping some serious coin on a notebook. »
