Automatically Repositioning and Resizing Windows
shankar2k | Jul 28 2007
Does anyone know of any tool that automatically resizes windows in OS X. Often I find myself doing a comparison across multiple sites (e.g. for plane tickets, computer hardware) and i want to accumulate my notes in one spreadsheet. It is a pain to manual reposition and resize the windows so that they take up the full screen side by side. Is there a tool for OS X that can do this? 3 Comments

I don't know if it's helpful, but there was a discussion about tiling Safari windows at macosxhints.com that might give you some ideas about how to do it with Applescript. »

Thanks. This gets me part of the way there. Now if I can figure out how to select two arbitrary windows for the script to work on, I'll be golden. »

There is a another discussion at macosxhints on how resizing windows: "A script to resize frontmost two windows to fill screen". I'd suggest going thru the comments as well, as they contain tweaks to the original script. You might something useful in there. »
