GCALDaemon & multiple ical
pipoca | Aug 26 2007
hi, anyone here good with gcaldaemon? I've synced one of my ical calenders to my gcal account using gcaldaemon but to be honest it looks a lot more complicated to use multiple calenders... is it just a matter of finding the local ical's directory and creating a counterpart in gcal? if so do i have to create all the empty calendars of the same name in gcal first? thanks! 6 Comments

I just started to set this up myself and haven't gotten to multiple calendars, so I don't think I can be much help - but I wanted to ask if you noticed the graphical configuration editor that comes with it: That looks to be a handy tool for editing settings including linking up additional calendars. »

How about Spanning Sync?Submitted by codykniffen on September 25, 2007 - 6:02am.
Have either of you tried Spanning Sync? I realize it does cost (which I think is bollocks because this functionality should be built-in to iCal) but it really is tempting to throw down the cash after using the trial. »

People rag Spanning Sync, but I’ve had good luck with it. I’ve actually switched almost completely to gCal, but SS makes sure the changes get made back to iCal, and can thus be synced on multiple machines. I agree though; it’s kinda silly that .Mac doesn’t offer conduits to popular online calendars. »
Try PlaxoSubmitted by SansPoint on September 25, 2007 - 8:58am.
The current Plaxo beta for Mac syncs with gCal, and it’s free. I’ve had no problems with it at all. »
I shall give it a whirl...Submitted by codykniffen on September 26, 2007 - 5:53pm.
…I just can’t justify plopping down the cash right now for SpanningSync. I want to, but it’s just not feasible right now. So, needless to say I’ve signed up for and downloaded the Plaxo client for my MacBook at home, and my Windows box here at work. Thanks for the headsup! UPDATE It works, I hate the fact that there is that website sitting between the sync, but it is working. If you look into using Plaxo, be forewarned that the setup/config is sometimes…”less than clear” but it DOES work (I like things to be idiot proof). For those not willing to cough up the money for Spanning Sync, take a look at Plaxo. »
