Ruby, or GTD On A Stick

I've just moved companies and I'm stuck with a very locked down XP based laptop (BT Webtop, if that helps). This means my previous GTD app (whatsnextapp) doesn't work. This new new system won't even let me have files on the desktop, only shortcuts. At home I use a macbook pro and an xp games/media system and I'd like the ability to use the GTD app on whatever machine I am at at the time. Web access is not always possible since I live somewhere above the W of that big 'nowhere' on gmaps and spend a lot of time on trains with no net access. I have been thinking there may be some way of making whatsnextapp run on a stick, or failing that some other GTD app, but that is beyond my feeble technical skills. Any thoughts or advice? 4 Comments

I designed the Ready-Set-Do! program for the mac. It will work well on your Macbook Pro. And you can then configure the Mail Rule it has to automatically send stuff to your mac from your XP setup via email when you do have web access. You can also send your most current action lists to your XP setup with the Email My Action Lists script. You might also try ThinkingRock, a Java-based GTD implementation that you can use on a thumb-drive. Hope that helps. »

What about a TiddlyWiki variant? At some point, it may grow large enough to warrant storing it on a network share than on a stick. »
