What does everyone do for a living

What does everyone do for a living? Just curious. Want to see if I can relate to anyone and how GTD plays out in their work. I am a manager for a restaurant. 62 Comments

I think a lot of PhD students are finding GTD useful...I wonder to what extent this is because most PhD students I know are really thrown in at the deep end - suddenly you've got a lot of independence and it can be really easy to procrastinate, or spend time on the more interesting parts of your work at the expense of getting the results which are actually going to form the backbone of your thesis. Claire: I think you just hit the nail right on the head there. Deep end indeed!! There's just so much we're expected to be able to do without knowing how to do it. At least during the Masters degree we were molly-coddled a bit and given direction. The worst part for me was changing schools between my MS and my PhD. My current advisor does things in an entirely different manner from my old one and I've really struggled to find a way to resolve these differences in a way that prevents me from getting kicked out of school ;) GTD has really helped me to be able to organize my work in such a way that I can work with my new advisor while still maintaining the tennets of thought and creativity I learned from my previous advisor. » POSTED IN:
