Boilerplate Checklists

Does anyone use any sort of "boilerplate" checklists for completing a project? For example, I'm developing a website, and I want to write up a checklist of everything I need to do for it. I'm doing pretty much all of it except for writing content, but there are a lot of things that have to be done before other things can be done. In other words, do any of you use standard checklists for completing similar projects?

Chrome, as a project manager,...

Chrome, as a project manager, I've found that writing out the scope of a project, even if it's similar to one I've done before, is a Zen moment. Suddenly, the next actions that need to take place are listed in crystal clarity. For that reason, I tend to avoid checklists. Listing the steps each time is too important to the creative (and, for that matter, motivational) process.

Your mileage, of course, may vary.

Cranking

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
