Distractions

Ok, so I'm new.
(first post)

New to Macs. New to GTD. New to 43 folders. New to Macbreak. New.

I have really loved all the anti-distraction videos and posts. I've got Quicksilver now, and Menu shade, and have a pure black desktop. My dock is hidden. Between being a stay-at-home Dad, Alzheimer's caregiver and online student, I need to do eveything I can to limit distractions.

I've long been a fan of control-tab, now command-tab. I want to find a way to hide apps I don't need from the dock or finder bezel (ie. hardware growler, menuShade) . I haven't found any way to do this.

Any ideas?

You can remove items from the Dock that you don't use on a regular basis, and just launch them from the Applications folder or with Quicksilver when you need them. Does that do it? Or are you talking about something else?

Cranking
