Mac Mail Question

Okay, I don't even know what to call the email that comes on the Mac when it's shipped. It just says "Mail." Anyway, that's what I'm using.

And I finally took the time to set up different folders so that different kinds of mail go into them, and that is really great.

My problem is, I have more than one account/email address.

I am subscribed to a couple of email lists with an email address I created just for that purpose, so the list mail won't be cluttering up my mailbox and overwhelming the mail I need to see promptly when it shows up. I can only reply to those emails from a specific email address.

The problem is, for some reason when I hit reply, Mail is automatically opening from the wrong account. I repeatedly hit send only to have stuff bounce back at me.

How do I change it so it knows which account to send from?

I'm IN the right folder when I hit reply, if that makes sense, but sending from the wrong account address.

Thanks!

OK, I am getting closer...

OK, I am getting closer to understanding. I think the Send mail from thing I mentioned might be new in Tiger so if you are on Panther or Jaguar, no dice. Where your inbox is in Mail, there ought to be a collapse/expand arrow. When you expand that, do you see all four of your accounts? If not, then the ones you don't see are likely aliases forwarding to whatever account actually coughs up the message for you. In that case, you would follow the previous hint, adding comma separated addresses for the one account. If you have individual accounts, try expanding your inbox and selecting the account there and it should reply from the address of the active mailbox.

FWIW here is a screenshot of my preferences window in action.
