David Allen's Paper Planner

Anybody look at David Allen's Paper Planner setup?

Seems like a good general guide to use when starting to design your own paper planner.

Does anyone implement this?
Or has anyone modified this to their own needs and if so how?

Good point... Letter size paper is...

Good point...

Letter size paper is not the problem, avoiding it IS the problem.

That's what I'm beginning to think.
I tried to develop a system where I could use my Pocket Moleskine as a Journal/Calendar and index cards to manage projects and NAs.

I'm stopping the Calendar part of my Moleskine, just too much work, when I can print out my calendar from iCal if I want a paper copy.

I have large Moleskines I use at work and a couple I use for side projects at home.

I may end up with a letter size Circa that is more Project support material than anything else.

I like the size of the Junior as it is close to the large journal Moleskine and this size works for me for sketching out ideas and miscellaneous notes in various locations.

So, we'll see how it goes, but hopefully I can use the Circa Jr. as the master notebook and use letter size paper to refer to and not use for higher level planning and management.

As for the calendar part, I would like to have a paper copy to work with, if I can't print the correct size for the Circa Jr. I will probably end up printing in letter size and just fold it in half to put in the Circa.

The calendar is not critical so this may work, I just want it to refer to when the need arises or I feel like working with paper instead of looking at a computer screen or my Treo.

This does though, illustrate a point that I thought about not too long ago. It is easier to put small papers into a large container than to put big papers into a small container.

Yeah...no duh... but this came to me when I was thinking about storing index cards. I ended up just putting them in the related project folder in my letter size folder reference system instead of their own separate storage.

Unless you have a specific need or use for an index card system by itself with no other size paper involved.
