This may not be quite...

This may not be quite as cheap as a binder clip, but its a pretty nice 3x5 card management device from Levenger for those that want the cadillac of 3x5 card handling.

I like these, myself. I picked up a poly index card case for 99 cents at Walgreen’s this weekend.

Amen to the 3x5 and...

Amen to the 3x5 and how much more convenient it is than any PDA solution I’ve tried so far. Why is that?

I’ve made a Hipster for myself. It is incredibly useful. I used to be a Franklin Covey “Classic” sized calendar lugger, but no more.

There are a few things I’m still planning on adding to my Hipster which you may want to add to yours also. Take a look at this guy’s 3x5 implementation and some of the printout forms he has made available at http://www.cis.rit.edu/~jerry/Text/hipster/

Merlin,

I lugging around my own hipster (laughably, right beside my blackberry). Unbelievable how many people want to know what it is and how it works.

I’m in the public service - there’s a whole world of people in here that need to read your hacks.

Thanks for your hard work here.

What is it with the...

What is it with the GTD/Moleskine/FisherSpacePen “holy trinity” going around lately?

How come everybody into GTD has to use a moleskine? And how come everybody that uses a moleskine has to use a Space Pen?

Did it exist before 43F?

Why would you ever want to write through butter?

It’s a cult, RanH. I run a cult.

This is simply what I demand people do, and, if they have any sense, they simply follow my demands to the letter and don’t ask a lot of fancy questions. Questioners risk…a night in “The Box”!

Butter is one of our sacraments, and all new acolytes are required to write David Allen’s name a thousand times on a single, buttered half of an english muffin, after which they generate a list of Next Actions. Some find it very relaxing. They better, or else they risk…a night in “The Box”!

Thanks for the question; been meaning to get that out there. ;-)

The thing is, I live...

The thing is, I live in Israel. If Moleskines were more available to me for purchase, I would have had one long ago (but not so long ago that it’s long enough to be before you put this site up).

I am at page 47 of GTD.

I don’t have a space pen; Infact, I always use the fluid type pens. I found my self this morning making a list with a “Parker” ball-point pen. I had to dig through my stuff to look for it, but i didn’t even realise I was doing it at the time.

That’s not even the worst part of it: a few months ago, I switched to using a mac exclusively, after having never even used one ever before!!

This frightens me.

Well, seriously, RanH, that’s kind of the beauty of GTD; it’s about using the tools that are available and work for you. You don’t need much apart from a little paper and the will to improve your habits. The rest is just goldplating and personal preference. :-)

Good luck with your stuff!

Yeah…

Better go out and get some binder clips!

Some people don’t get the idea. Why is a stack of note cards and a binder clip news worthy? I think it’s because it’s such a simple idea most people have never thought of it.

My New PAA

I have a new organizing system. Today is T+6 days since implementation. Here are some thoughts.

So there is this system that is pretty popular with the kids these days. Apparently it is also popular with business types as well. The system I speak of…

Get Started with ‘GTD’

David Allen’s popular productivity book and the system on which it’s based help turn ‘stuff’ into actions that support valuable outcomes.
