What is it with the GTD/Moleskine/FisherSpacePen "holy trinity" going around lately?

How come everybody into GTD has to use a moleskine? And how come everybody that uses a moleskine has to use a Space Pen?

Did it exist before 43F?

Why would you ever want to write through butter?
