MakeZine.com: Volume 02: Home Entertainment

Issue #02 of O’Reilly’s quarterly Make Magazine is reportedly on its way to subscribers’ mailboxes as well as being available for order from Amazon (anybody know when it hits retail stores?), and that means you also get another column full of life-hackerly advice from Danny and me—this time, about one of my pet topics, maintaining focus.

Recent research here at Life Hacks Labs suggests that it’s creative people like yourself who seem to have the worst time staying focused on their work. Now, far be it from us to imply that Make has somehow contributed to your personal procrastination problem; you may, in fact, have a variety of work-related projects that will benefit from your Trackback-enabled breadmaker or that new kittycat jetpack. But if your boss is tapping her foot and staring expectantly at her watch, you might consider a few tricks for getting back on track.

Coming Soon: a spiffy script to beat back endless online surfing that Danny’s written for the column.
