Seems it does not work with my recent new favorite - the “menu” interface to QS. Well, this trick is worth going back to “bezel.”

.. great trick, but like Anthony asked, can you creat a directory to place them in as well? i.e. place a “;” in your sentance? That has gotten me a few times and I can’t quite figure it out.

Great tip Merlin. I am a big quicksilver fan and I love the new Merlin Show. You might consider slowing down a bit when talking to make this even more understandable. Keep up the good work.

You have made a convert of me to the way of Quicksilver. It is the Balm. However I can only use that on my home system (a tricked-out vintage mac) but at work I am stuck in PC XP land—is there anything remotely comparable to QS for PC’s? Tank you, tank you…

Also, the show is great! But I have to admit, your logo makes you look a little like Garrison Keillor. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

Wonderful. Another QS trick that I hadn’t yet gotten my head around.

Has anyone written some kind of killer all-encompassing things-you-didn’t-know tutorial or book on QS? I just ran across one on TextMate and, all things being equal, both of these apps have a bgillion features lying under the hood that remain unearthed for many of us (even power users).

That is the very cool “Fuzzy Clock.” Badly needs an update to UB, but once you go to the Fuzz, you never go back.

Oh, one other quick question:

When copying files from QS in this fashion, what happens if you want to move to a directory that doesn’t exist? There doesn’t seem to be a way to create the directory to send in the workflow… or am I missing something obvious?

what’s that square thing with the blinking red dot in your menubar? Saw that somewhere else already, haven’t figured out what it is.

I love the bold audacious nature of having a widescreen picture of you with a title about a comma trick. The contrast definitely illustrates that small things can make a big difference.

I also like that you are being GTD’s resident Q and are back to showing us what new gadgets you have come up with for the GTD Agents out there. I attempt to do the same thing myself and it is gratifying to spread the word when a new trick or hack is discovered. Looking forward to more tricks maybe a semicolon trick.

We can probably even invent an angent called Dome. James Done.

Love your shows & podcasts. And thanks to your book recommendations i’m “getting things done”… mostly. I will jump on the quicksilver bandwagon asap as my current breadcrumbs have seemed to disappeared. I’m pointing the finger at the Uli Moose I downloaded during a trip down the Mac memory lane. Now, I’m simply annoyed with his jerky, monotone text-to-speechiness. Do you think it would hurt his feelings if I asked him politely to leave?
