Completely true about "the google"...Submitted by Brandon_Leedy on October 1, 2007 - 8:51am.
My Grandma actually calls it “the google”. She keeps asking me to help teach her how to use her computer, but she has already learned it on her own…I think for a lot of older people the tech is just scary…its not tangible, and heaven help us if popups appear on their screen, i have gotten a lot of cell phone calls about those… And as for Star Wars, always watch them in order of release date…if you don’t the kid will wonder why the graphics got worse…but as for the changes made on the dvd versions, how bad is it? I still use my vhs versions…is it really different? »

Is it only my imagination or does that font really look like the lettering from the old label-making machines - the kind that used thick, black plastic tape and that made letters by stamping the plastic so it stretched and turned white? Like, old school productivity? »

OOoooo….Dymo. I used to love making those labels. »
I don’t see the connectionSubmitted by ryanpmack on October 3, 2007 - 8:18am.
I don’t see the connection between the two, even now after you’ve mentioned it…. I used to love those Dymo label-makers too. Bought a mustard yellow one for a dollar at a church rummage sale when I was 10 and labeled everything in the house. Regardless, Inconsolata is looking mighty fine in my copy of TextMate. Thanks for the suggestion Merlin. »
Kinky font?Submitted by Targuman on October 1, 2007 - 10:13am.
Oh, wait, now I see, you said it was a “kicky” font. Oh well… »

…have more in common than I once thought. He also uses “the Google”. I stop by “the Google” nearly every time I get on “the Internets”. »

“Every time you email me a link, I come to your house, lick a spoon, then put it back in the drawer.” This is the kind of stuff that keeps me coming back for more! »
Thanks a bunch, Merlin!Submitted by VesperDEM on October 1, 2007 - 12:19pm.
I have been looking and looking for a decent mono-spaced font! Inconsolata is really great looking! Love the new look for the site too! »
Font loveSubmitted by casey.marshall on October 1, 2007 - 6:51pm.
Inconsolata looks, at first glance, like it might do the trick for me in Terminal and Emacs; I can’t stand Monaco’s little ell, and Andale Mono and Courier were my fonts of choice. Inconsolata looks a little cramped, but clean, and I just love the lower case c and j! It seems like it’s been hard to find a readable monospace font that (important for Mac OS X) looks good and readable when anti-aliased. I’ll need to try this font in the paper documentation I write, too, since I especially hate the way most monospace fonts look in printed text. Thank you. »
UnfortunateSubmitted by em on October 2, 2007 - 8:26am.
Inconsolata looks a bit fuzzy on windows. Can’t wait to try it out on the MBP at home. Every day that goes by has me regretting coming to work and working on this infernal windows pc. »
