43 Folders

Insanely great.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” Thanks, Steve.

”What’s 43 Folders?”
43Folders.com is Merlin Mann’s website about finding the time and attention to do your best creative work.

Gidday

I first found out about GTD when I was looking for a way to tame the corporate Outlook and came across a copy of "Workflow Processing using Microsoft Outlook". I soon discovered that GTD was far more than mail taming and I am starting (trying) to apply the techniques to my work life.

As a cubicle dweller I use Windows XP and Outlook synched to an iPaq as my primary tools, supplemented with numerous bits of paper and frequent coffees.

At home we use a shared wall planner and the "nagging" system. Everybody nags everyone else to do things and eventually they happen depending on the volume of the complaint!

Hopefully I will be able to learn from your experiences and some of my comments will be useful to you.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
