Best $200 or under file cabinet?
solo | Jan 4 2007
I have searched the Forum and have not seen this obvious subject. If it has been covered already, please just post a link. Am looking for a fun to use and sturdy 2 drawer file cabinet. Wheels are nice, a spring do-hickey to keep non-hanging folders in place is a must. $200 is the top price, although I my next stop is Sam Flax's centerfold site. I am glad that Davidco and Merlinco don't sell "authorized" tools, but I almost wish they did endorse a product in this case. (Just wasted a subway ride to The Container Store to run and see a $125.00 on sale piece of shit file cabinet. Well, I did pick up a bunch of cool plastic shoeboxes to store all my worldly belongings in, but still...) Thanks for any suggestions, Solo 4 Comments

I just bought a really nice wooden file cabinet at Sam's Club for @ $160.00. It's not quite as deep as my metal files, but much more solid. Unfortunately to look on the Sam's site you evidently have to select a specific warehouse, but if you want to check it out, it's part of their "Regency" office furniture suite, and is listed as: Regency 2-Drawer File Cabinet »

I got a two-drawer lateral filing cabinet (presswood/particle board) at Staples for like $60. It's pretty sturdy, but of course wouldn't stand up to fire or anything like that. »

Do you like the lateral? The David sure doesn't! »
