RSS Feeds in Safari
Hayl | Jan 17 2007
I am trying to go back to Safari after having used Firefox (with Google Reader) for quite some time. I am finding it frusting that I can't "save" RSS articles for later in Safari without bookmarking them, the way you can in Google Reader with the "star" button. Does anyone have any recommendations for an app that will let me temporarily "scrapbook" feeds/links without adding them to my Safari bookmarks? Or -- should I just go back to Firefox? (I am leaning towards the latter, or possibly Camino) 6 Comments

Other than "doing things the Apple, Inc. way," why not continue to use Google Reader in Safari? Heck, Google Reader is what got me back into using RSS after I went on a 6+ month fast. I moved away from using NetNewsWire, to Firefox "Live Bookmarks", to using Google Reader. I not only have the ability to "Star" items for later digestion, but I can access Greader from any browser I'm using, whatever platform. (Firefox, Camino, & Safari on OS X... and Firefox on Windows.) I use newsgator as well. It lets you save individual items so you can go back and check them again, even after marking them as read. Generally what I do, though, is use http://toread.cc to send myself any page I want to review in more detail later. »
