”What’s 43 Folders?”
43Folders.com is Merlin Mann’s website about finding the time and attention to do your best creative work.

mwr's Introduction

Howdy. I’m a research & development engineer at a public university, with an abnormally high percentage of time spent in IT support. At the moment, I’m using a brief period of downtime to sort through mostly redundant and slightly out of sync copies of my “My Documents” folders before diving into a 26 GB inbox directory. Thank God for DoubleKiller.

My usual tools are a Treo 700p with Datebk6 and Chattermail, plus an IMAP server with as much server-side automation as I can manage (let the server filter it, so I’m not screwed if my Thunderbird profile ever gets corrupted again).

I’m also trying to streamline my IT work with managed infrastructures techniques, largely documented here.
