Multiple Podcast Settings in iTunes
Tom Woodsworth | Oct 13 2007
Hi there, I have a frustration with how iTunes allows me to manage my Podcast subscriptions. Essentially, I’d like to have individual settings for individual subscriptions. For example, some feeds I’d like to download every available episode, even if they’re old, whereas some are highly time specific and I’d like to only download the most recent episode. Others still I’d rather not have iTunes download anything without me selecting it. The same goes for how long iTunes keeps episodes, some I’d value to keep for for archival purposes, whereas some I’d like automatically trashed after a period of time. Anyway of making this happen in iTunes? Cheers, Tom 1 Comment

Not gonna happen in iTunes...Submitted by augmentedfourth on October 14, 2007 - 5:35pm.
I've looked for similar functionality in iTunes and never found it (though I'd be happy to be proven wrong). I've just settled with how iTunes does it, though... If you want to manage podcasts like that, you'd probably have to look to a different podcast client (possibly Juice, though I'm not sure if it does what you want). If you can get it to work how you'd like, Juice integrates with iTunes if you want to get the downloaded podcasts onto an iPod. You may have to use Smart Playlists if you want the podcasts to drop off your iPod after a certain number of listens or after a certain length of time. » POSTED IN:
