GTD in an organisation

I find GTD really compelling set of ideas. And I am really excited to find omni outline and KGTD and this site. Problem I have is that we manage projects and next actions as a company (of which I am MD - www.applebananacarrot.com) and I also want to do the same for myself personally.

Most , but not all, of my personal projects are company projects. I ‘d like to use kgtd (or anything you guys think is better) for company project management and also for my self gtd work but dont want to have to copy actions and projects across from the company doc to my doc, neither do I want to use the company for all my personal stuff - cos it needs to be shared across the team,

I guess this is a common problem for those usng GTD as an individual and a team.

Any suggestions gratefully welcomed.

What Works Is What Works

Some people work very effectively with a very clean desk and others work just as effectively only top of a cluttered garbage pile. Your preferences are your own, and people naturally get defensive if you try to get them to behave in a manner other than what they choose.

What to do is obvious once you get the above point. You do your own GTD thing, get agreements from others about what their work looks like, when it will be delivered, and what the quality expectation is, and then you just hold people to that commitment. Of course, if your going to hold others to their agreements you need to be near flawless honoring your end because everyone is a hypocrite, quick to remember the broken agreement of others and equally quick to forget their own failures.

Since over time actions speak at least as loudly as works, if you GTD your world, honor your agreements, and hold others accountable, you’ll compel them to getting things done even if they never read GTD.

RSD Might Work

You could try my Mac GTD setup and see if that might work as a solution. Everyone gets their own setup, but since the entire thing is based upon the filesystem of the OS, it makes it very easy to collaborate and send others your work.

I’m also very interested in seeing how RSD might work in a collaborative work environment. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
