The very swell Zencast podcast series’ latest entry is on Basic Buddhism. Just listening to it right now, but so far it seems like a good introduction.

What I find…most people in southern California don’t suffer enough, so [the Buddha] also taught how to be happy…What I find, if I’m speaking to people under 40, I talk about how to be happy, and if I speak to people over 40, I talk about how not to suffer. But it’s the same message.

Bonus points awarded for name-checking the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

a good comparative study on Buddhism and Occidental Mysticism (as rapresentative of the Occidental Mysthicism is present the great Meister Eckhart. A great meditative lecture IMHO)
