Afraid of the Mess.... Help!

So today is the day I decided to start on my office. I have a large inbox that is now filled with stuff off the top of my desk.

I haven't touched what's on the other surfaces, in the drawers, etc.

I'm afraid of the mess I'm going to make!

I'm SO tempted to just take care of the desk first, and then move forward, instead of doing it all at once.

Somebody who had a big job of this, quick -- tell me it works so that I can keep going!

(The irony is, the office is a mess to begin with, thus the big piles that are going to start growing. The problem is I'm going to have to stack the stuff in the hall or living room, and am afraid of the mess taking over the rest of the house. Yikes!)

Well, it's like this.

Emptying my office (which had turned into a store room with 'stuff' scattered everywhere, piled everywhere, including furniture that wasn't in use) and putting it back together where things really DID have place, was such an amazing experience, I seem to have rested on my laurels for awhile.

I haven't plunged forward the way I should with NAs and the rest of the program -- I've just been enjoying the benefits of the "collection" and "process" parts.

As a matter of fact, today is when I finally sat down again and listed out projects (while I was in a doctor's waiting room -- I opened the mac, typed a project, inserted page break, rinse & repeat -- I ended up with 58 pages). I printed them out and now am about to process THEM. (I had processed physical things before.)

So yes, it's wonderful and it works, but I kind of forgot to keep going! LOL!

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
