GTD in biglaw?

I'm a 3rd year law student who just read GTD. I will be starting work in the litigation group of a 600-lawyer law firm that has a 2000/year billable-hour requirement. I'm wondering if there are any lawyers on this forum who have incorporated GTD into their practice, and how they set it up. I know we have Outlook and will be getting Blackberry/Treo devices, so I may as well use those tools.

What has worked? Does being more efficient have the perverse effect of lowering your billable hours?

GTD - Lawyers & CPA

Hey,

You might want to check the forum at www.davidco.com - in which both issues were discussed.

Patrick - I would not worry that being efficient would lower billable hours. On the opposite. You will soon discover that the more efficient you are, the more tasks you'll receive.David Allen wrote something like - the better you are, the better you'd better get.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
