The single most useful/revolutionary part...

The single most useful/revolutionary part of my developing system is a 50 cent 3.5 x 5 inch spiral bound notepad, and a pen, that live in my pocket whenever I leave the house, and on my desk while I work. Everything goes out of my brain into there. Then when I organise things into lists in text files later, the used pages get torn out and thrown into the paper bin leaving a nice empty pad to start fresh with.

Together with outlook for email and calender, and one in-tray on the desk, my 'collection' system is simple, and has defintiely changed my life. No more lists here, there and everywhere, and changing my wedding ring from one hand to the other to try and remember things!

Definitely though, I think the key to this is keeping the system as simple as possible.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
