The Evil Empire is listening

Found this on the Task and Time Management in Outlook blog on MSDN [that is Microsoft for you Appleheads]:

Melissa MacBeth, Features Designer for Microsoft Outlook wrote:
We then did research to figure out how to modify Outlook in order to help people to be more effective at managing their time. We looked at many different time management systems, including Getting Things Done by David Allen, Take Back Your Life! By Sally McGhee and her Microsoft training course, Managing Actions, The Organized Executive by Stephanie Winston, the Franklin Covey/Quest model, Time Management from the Inside Out by Julie Morgenstern, among others.

There is a lot of good stuff coming in Outlook 2007. I just installed it last night, and I may be moving back to it for my GTD system. You can download the Outlook 2007 beta at Microsoft's site.

I installed the Office 07...

I installed the Office 07 beta, and it bogged my laptop down so bad I could barely use it. I was thrilled to see the new features built into Outlook, which I wish it had all along, but I ended up uninstalling it. Uninstalling Office 07 caused other problems which took me to the point of not using Outlook at home anymore. I've been using gmail without pop3 lately, and getting used to it. I can check email almost anywhere. I used to avoid that because I knew my email was downloading on my laptop so if I logged into gmail I'd have to keep track of what I already read when I got back to Outlook.

I still use Outlook at work, but I've been using My Life Organized a lot more.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
