Projects, esp. someday/maybe

This probably should go in the lofi discussion, but I decided to put it here so people can share various methods.

I've just returned from the office supply store where I picked up a couple of thousand index cards. (I'm going to be using them for various projects, not just this.)

For the first time I feel like I can get a better handle on my "projects," because I intend to put a single project on each index card and file in my card file. A 3x5 just feels so much more compact and manageable to me, especially those things I can't work on right now. I haven't decided exactly how to organize them. Probably by contexts -- @ home (projects to be done around the house), will be kept separate from projects like @ family (things I want to do for my mom or kids) or whatever.

I already have separate file drawers for my work -- writing and teaching, so I guess they'll each have their own collection of someday/maybe cards at the back, too.

Anybody else?

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
