Martha GTD Stewart Stuff

Okay, so have we discussed foods, meals, and meal prep?

I feel like June Cleaver or something, even bringing this up, but I'm wondering if anybody has any good ideas for eating. Do you cook stuff ahead and freeze? Do you have certain cans/frozen packs that you keep on hand to have something easy?

Or is it all Ramen all the time?

It's a Good Thing

My wife just did something called Dream Dinners (dreamdinners.com) where she (and a number of her friends) went and prepared some large number of meals. Basically, it's the prep work to get together all the ingredients so when you need a meal, it's in the freezer and COMPLETE!

It looks like you could just as easily replicate on your own, but I think the big benefit (for us, at least) is that we're getting to try things we might not have attempted on our own. It's too easy to fall into the food routine (Friday is Prince spaghetti night!) and never try anything new. That's how we ended up with eggs on Tuesday and cereal on Thursday.

If you dig cooking, take a relaxing Saturday and whip up a dozen meals and see where it gets you.

Regards,

Mike

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
