Not a native speaker by any means but my understanding of "quehacer" is that it is, as you say, an idiomatic expression that comes from the "tengo que" construction. So, rather than constantly saying "tengo que hacer algo u otro," quehacer became it's own verb. Is it used transitively (with a direct object) or intransitively (essentially just describing the activity) in your experience? » POSTED IN:
